Beechwood Continuing Care provides a continuum of long-term care which includes independent, intermediate, rehabilitative, and skilled nursing services. One benefit of our Homes is to facilitate an easy transition into the appropriate level of care if the need arises.

As a resident, you pay a reasonable daily rate while retaining control of your personal assets and affairs. The Homes are not-for-profit which ensures all dollars received are available for the direct support of the Homes.

The Beechwood/Blocher Foundation provides an avenue for the receipt of charitable donations and distributes these gifts and/or their earnings to the Homes to ensure that once our residents become a member of the Beechwood Continuing Care family, they remain with us for as long as they need our care . . . regardless of their financial resources.

In order to provide efficient overall management, the Homes are governed by a common Board of Directors. The Beechwood Residence opened in 1964, followed by the Beechwood Nursing Home in 1973. The Blocher Homes admitted their first Resident in 1906 and joined the Beechwood Homes in 1977. The Wesley Rehabilitation Center opened in January 1996. Asbury Pointe, an independent senior retirement community, is the newest addition to our continuing care family. Licensure for the Blocher Homes is issued by the New York State Department of Health.

The Beechwood Residence, Wesley Rehabilitation Center and Beechwood Nursing Home are licensed by the New York State Department of Health. Licensure for the Blocher Homes is issued by the New York State Department of Social Services.

It is the Homes' policy to admit Residents regardless of age, race, color, national origin, creed, sex, sexual preference, handicaps, blindness or sponsor.

In the past few years, Beechwood has been the recipient of numerous awards, commendations and accreditations. These include: the Amherst Chamber of Commerce Commitment to Excellence Award in Health and Health Services; Five-star ranking in both the "Inside Guide to America's Nursing Homes" and Healthgrades.com internet site; accredidation from the United Methodist Association of Health and Welfare Ministries; Winner of the 2002 Innovation of the Year Award from the New York State Association of Homes and Services for the Aging; and recipient of the Better Business Bureau's prestigious Torch Award 2002 for Marketplace Ethics.

Those associated with Beechwood Continuing Care take pride in past accomplishments, and the Homes are committed to creatively meeting the needs of its Residents and the community.
